It is part of Bio-Med Devices' 2003 series — the industry-standard low-flow blender widely used in NICUs, PICUs, hospitals, and specialised healthcare facilities.

The blender operates entirely without electronics, using a precision pneumatic proportioning mechanism to mix air and oxygen. It features a low supply gas alarm that activates on loss of either gas source, providing audible notification at 80 dB at 1 foot.
