The unit was connected via its PoE RJ45 port to a local network and video streaming was confirmed operational using Allied Vision's AcquireControl software. Some cosmetic imperfections are present but do not affect performance.

The Allied Vision Mako G-234C is a 2.35 megapixel GigE Vision compliant colour machine vision camera incorporating the Sony IMX249LQJ Exmor CMOS sensor with Pregius global shutter technology. It is part of Allied Vision's ultra-compact Mako G series, sharing the same form factor and mounting positions as many legacy analogue cameras, making it an ideal modern replacement.

At full resolution the camera delivers up to 41.5 frames per second in 10-bit readout mode, with higher frame rates achievable at reduced regions of interest. The GigE Vision interface with Power over Ethernet (PoE) support enables single-cable operation over standard CAT-5e or CAT-6 cabling up to 100 metres. The camera features a precision-aligned sensor, a 64 MB image buffer, and three opto-isolated outputs plus one opto-isolated input. IEEE 1588 Precision Time Protocol (PTP) enables synchronisation of multiple cameras on a network, and Trigger over Ethernet (ToE) Action Commands allow a single-cable trigger solution.

The Mako G-234C ships standard with a Hoya C-5000 IR cut filter and a C-Mount lens interface. Smart features include region of interest (ROI) readout, programmable exposure and white balance, bandwidth control, and defect pixel masking. The camera is compatible with Allied Vision's Vimba X SDK and major third-party machine vision libraries.
