T-TECH Tooling Ltd, founded in 1948 and based in Birmingham, UK, is a world leader in the manufacture of precision thread cutting tools. The CTE-3824UN-VS2 is a carbide hardmetal (HM) left-hand thread tap designed for cutting 3/8"-24 UNF internal threads. The "CTE" prefix denotes the carbide hardmetal tap series; "VS2" refers to the tolerance/pitch diameter class; and "HM" confirms solid tungsten carbide hardmetal construction.

T-TECH carbide hardmetal taps feature an extremely stable sub-micro grain structure that delivers superior resistance to abrasion, pressure, heat, and material adhesion compared to conventional HSS or HSSEpm counterparts. Carbide hardmetal taps can be run at up to 3x the speed of HSS equivalents, resulting in a superior surface finish, massive reduction in tool wear, and reduced cycle times.

All T-TECH taps are ground thread and manufactured using high-performance grade tungsten carbide sourced from the UK and EU, with full QC certification and traceability. Rigorous in-house inspection is carried out in a temperature-controlled facility using conventional and modern world-class equipment.
