Both units power on and display the main menu with Tier 1 Test, Loss Test, Powermeter, Source, and Probe functions visible. The rear label confirms both are PC-connector multimode variants supporting 50/125 µm MMF at 850 nm and 1300 nm with InGaAs photodiode receivers. No batteries are included; each unit takes 8 x AA batteries.

The Viavi SmartClass Fiber OLTS-85 (part number 2325/14 / 2325/14S) is a professional handheld multimode optical loss test set designed for Tier 1 fibre certification of multimode fibre optic links. It integrates industry-leading fibre end-face inspection with automated loss testing in a single compact instrument, allowing installers and technicians to certify fibre installations faster, correctly, and to global industry standards including TIA-568.3, ISO 11801, and ISO 14763-3.

The 2325/14 is the multimode variant featuring an LED light source operating at 850 nm and 1300 nm, suitable for 50/125 µm and 62.5/125 µm multimode fibres. Its InGaAs photodiode power meter offers a wide dynamic range for accurate optical power and loss measurements. Both the local and remote test results are saved simultaneously on the local device, eliminating the need to walk both ends of the link.
