The Viavi (formerly JDSU) MTS 2000 is a compact, portable mainframe platform designed for field technicians performing optical fibre testing on FTTH, access, and metro networks. The modular design accepts a range of plug-in test modules, allowing the platform to be configured for a wide variety of measurement tasks. The mainframe features a high-visibility display with touchscreen interface, making it practical for use in varied field environments.
The 4126 MA single-mode OTDR module is optimised for FTTH and short/medium-haul network qualification, including networks incorporating passive optical splitters up to 1×32. Its ultra-short dead zones allow accurate fault localisation close to the instrument connector, while the high dynamic range supports testing of long-reach networks.
