The Kewtech KTD50 is a feature-rich digital RCD tester capable of testing Type AC and ACS RCDs from 30mA to 500mA. In auto-test mode, the instrument automatically runs through all six standard tests while the operator simply resets the RCD each time it trips, with all results accessible via the recall button. The ramp test slowly increases the tripping current until the RCD trips, displaying the value in mA — useful for identifying RCDs out of specification or susceptible to nuisance tripping, and for indicating circuits with high leakage currents. The x2 I∆N test satisfies the advisory note for verification of disconnection times per 17th Edition regulation 411.3.2.2. The unit also incorporates a full socket tester checking 18 wiring conditions and features a unique mains supply polarity test to confirm that line and neutral are not switched at the incoming supply.
